SJI’s employees participated in community service projects in Galloway, Atlantic City, Hammonton, Woodbine and other areas throughout New Jersey. Projects included making cards and crafts for older adults, school children and community members, and distributing food and critical supplies to local organizations.

“We appreciate and value the combined participation of SJI employees at Stockton University’s 21st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service,” said Taylor Coyne, coordinator of service-learning, Stockton University. “As SJI embodies serving their local community daily with energy services, we commend their employees’ time and commitment to supporting Stockton University and serving the local community through various service projects.”

The Stockton University’s Annual Day of Service brings together over 500 students, community members, and community partners, and often encompasses over 15 projects both on- and off-campus. The goal of Days of Service is to provide an intensive, community-wide experience for students and to introduce them to partners with whom they can serve long-term and develop an ongoing relationship. The Jersey Cares Day of Service engages people across the state to embody Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision and bring people of all ages and backgrounds together, strengthening their communities and building a stronger New Jersey.
